On January 24, 2005, we left Montevideo by Buquebus for a three night
stay in Buenos Aires. We had reservations at the Art Hotel, a new
hotel in an old refurbished building in the Recoleta district.
The hotel was featured in a recent New York Times article. The
hotel, while cute, was too cute and too uninteresting, although the
staff was quite nice. Buenos Aires seems to have returned to its
rather high octane level since the economic collapse of a two years
ago. Construction is booming, stores are busy, and people are
moving briskly. The city's European flavor is evident everywhere
one goes. The food is great and the people are friendly.
